Went to see the Gaugin exhibition today. Takeaways:
1. What I always thought about as "Gaugin" is actually "Gaugin after 1898"
2. Gaugin pre-1898ish is what I think of as "generic impressionist" Which doesn't stop him from being awesome. The sailing vessel in the moonlight is especially awesome.

3. I get why he's important, but I still don't like any of his important works (as opposed to early not-gauginish ones)
4. Must look for Emile Bernard next time I'm near a large museum
